Auroras

November 7th, 2004  Aurora from Babylon, NY.

All photos were taken with a tripod mounted Canon 300D / Digital Rebel Camera with an 18mm lens at ISO 400, f/3.5 for 25 seconds.

September 7th, 2002 - Aurora at Robert Moses State Park - On September 7th, 2002 at 9:30 pm the coolest thing I have ever seen appeared out of no where, with no warning and lasted about 5 minutes.  You are looking directly North.  The bowl of the Big Dipper is bottom center.  The multiple bright red bands were waving like a shower curtain with a distinct green trim on the bottom.  Below that is a whitish haze from the light pollution on Long Island.

The dashed line are airplane lights during a 25 second photo.

Another Auroral curtain of light.
