Comet 17P/Holmes This comet was almost practically unknown over a week before this picture was taken. It suddenly brightened and expanded for no apparent reason. Captured on 10/28/2007 on a Digital Rebel with a 10inch SCT. Composite of 16 images at ISO 400 for 30 seconds. No post processing |

Comet C/2006 P1 McNaught. Captured at Robert Moses State Park on 1/10/2007at 30 minutes after sunset. Captured on January 10, 2007. Brightest Comet in 40 years. However it was only visible right after the sunset for about 40 minutes. Image height about 3 degrees. The comet is on its way toward and then around the Sun. Its the brightest comet in over 40 years. 300mm lens on a Digital Rebel. ISO 100, 1.5 second exposure. |
