Our Galactic Center.  The following picture is a wide-field  shot of the Summer Milky Way taken in early Summer 2001.  It is centered on the heart of our own Milky Way Galaxy between Scorpios and Sagittarius   The bright red star on the right is the planet Mars.

70mm lens at f 3.5 Piggyback and tracked for 20 minutes and guided at Robert Moses State Park in NY.

The Milky Way.  Here is an interesting film shot with a Fisheye lens tracked 20 minutes.Captured at Robert Moses State Park on Fire Island.  This shows a ~180 degree field of view. The Milky Way is cutting across the center of the field.  The overexposure in the upper right is light pollution from New York City in the northwest. The arching line at the extreme left is a Coast Guard helicopter that happened to be flying down the coast
