THE MOON

A 141km crater called Nepar on the terminator of the moon.  Captured 09/19/05, with a 2ucam on a 1600mm Schmitt Telescope

 

 

Total Lunar Eclipse on 10/27/04.  This picture was taken at mid totality at 11:09pm EDT  from Robert Moses State Park, Fire Island, NY.   It was taken with a Canon 300D, ISO 400, 2 seconds,  f/4, on a 25.4 cm SCT.  For additional eclipse photos please see my eclipse page.

 

  Here is the Last Quarter Moon taken 8/8/04 at 1am.  This image is a composite of 6 individual stacked frames. 

 Imaged on a 1600mm SCT telescope and a Canon Digital Rebel/300D camera.  Image speed ISO800.  6 images at 1/250 each.  Images Plus used for stacking and levels adjustment.
